Hi Everyone –

I know, I know, I’m running two Blog Hops at once…

How cool is that, right?

I love the holidays and meeting new readers, and what better way than a fun Holiday Blog Hop, right?

So I have a kid story to share about wishes… My daughter (Who is 21 and has heard me tell this story many times) was asked this question for her elementary school newspaper: “If you ever caught a leprechaun, what would you wish for?”

Many of the kids asked for money, cars, video games, but my 6 year old daughter proudly wished for “A Shaved Ice Recipe”… LOL

The innocence of that wish always makes me smile, because so often we wish for money or a house or a car, something that will make us feel more secure instead of something that brings us joy. I love Christmas shopping because I love to find gifts for people I care about that weren’t on a list. I love to give them something that they didn’t even realize they wanted.

Books have always been a fun gift because you can introduce a new author to a friend or family member. I remember giving Panda her copy of The Phantom Tollbooth and watching her hesitantly open the cover. It’s still one of her favorite books of all time.

And my son, Reno, isn’t a big reader, but he was excited to get the newest book in the “Young Templar” series. He hadn’t even known the new one was out!

A gift doesn’t have to be expensive to bring someone JOY… I think that’s my favorite part of the season…

If you leave a comment and/or visit the rafflecopter link http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/d4a6093/

I have some holiday goodies to give away including a copy of my Christmas music CD – The Magic of Christmas.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I’d love to hear some of your WISHES in the comments…

Lisa J

First let me wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year!
Lisa, if I could have one granted wish this Christmas Season, it would have to be that my sons not to be deployed to Afgan. My son Brandon which is in the US Army is scheduled to deploy at the end of June or beginning of July and my son B.J. is in the US Marines and is scheduled to deploy in April. I pray every night that for one reason or another that something will happen to cancel there deployments.
    Happy reading and writing*
    Teresa

What an inspiring story Lisa. I would wish for a Tiger Sanctuary. I am so saddened by the near extinction of these vibrant, breathtaking, and beautiful animals.

    Happy Holidays Lisa and Everyone….

Like Mary, I’m wishing for a wet winter. Our farmers had a rough summer because of a lack of rain and lost many crops. Thanks for the giveaway!

    That’s an adorable story!

Books are among my favorite gifts to give; I love sharing my favorites with people and having someone to discuss a book with is like a bonus present! This year I’m wishing for some new books for my kindle, some tea…maybe some time to myself to read, though that’s a bit hard to wrap!

  18. Sebrina Cassity December 10, 2012 at 12:37 pm

Both of my kids this year told their father and me that they didn’t want toys. They ‘have plenty that they already don’t play with’……..I thought that was the cutest thing ever. My son is almost 10 and my daughter is 7. Just love em!
Wishing you and your family the happiest of times this entire month!!!
