Happy St. Patrick’s Day – Small Press Treasures*BlogHop

Hi everyone –

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

I love this fun day where out on the California coast, we all pretend we’re from the Emerald Isle!

Ireland has always been one of the places on my dream list to visit. I haven’t been there yet, but I love looking at pictures and listening to the music. You can almost hear the magic in their folk songs, the turn of their Irish brogue, and the elusive beauty of the Gaelic language.

I decided to indie publish my short novella, Across the Veil, because at 27 pages it was too long to submit to short story anthologies, and too short to submit to eBook publishers. Across the Veil doesn’t take place in Ireland, but they do cross the veil between our world and Summerland, the land of the fae, the emerald isle. I had such a blast writing this one.

BLURB: Princess Talia from Summerland has been hiding across the veil in the human world for the past five years.

Starring in a hit television show as human actress, Natalie Thurmont, her charmed new life is shattered when the past comes knocking on her door.

Here’s the trailer: [http://youtu.be/xH6oJLEucxU]

After learning about self-publishing, I still hoped to find a publisher for my novels. There are countless hours spent editing and and deigning covers, buying ISBN numbers, etc when you are the author and the publisher. The thought of publishing my novel myself overwhelmed me. So I sought out a small press publisher and found a treasure in Entangled Publishing. Not only did they make a WONDERFUL cover, but I ended up with a fabulous editor who really helped me polish the book into something I could be proud of…

With my publisher’s help, Night Walker is about to be re-issued in a new mass-market edition in May!!!

You can preoder your copy now and Barnes & Noble has even put it on sale! WOOT!!!

St. Patrick’s Day is a national holiday around here. We start at 7:00 am getting ready for the parade. It starts at 10. From there we go to the in laws and eat, eat, eat! Play games with the kiddos and eat some more. Some of us exchange gifts. Then it is off to the pub crawl while the kids stay with grandma and grandpa. Good Times! So what is my favorite…All of it!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I don’t really celebrate, but my favorite thing would have to be that everyone wears green. Since its my favorite color, I get to see it in its many shades today! Thank you for the giveaway!

Honestly I don’t have a favorite thing about St. Patrick’s Day now that I’m a boring adult. I remember when I was younger it was all about the green: nail polish, hair spray dye, clothing, etc. I also have fond memories of searching for hours for four-leaf clovers – unfortunately I never found any…

I love celebrating St Pattys day with an Aunt that is 3 years younger than me and an Uncle that is 4 years older than me, we have so much fun wearing green on this special day because between all of our kids we have to be on guard for the little pinchers lerking around. LOL

We are low key in our celebrations in our family. We wear the green and enjoyed the American Irish Corned Beef and Cabbage. Then we’ll sit down to a movie set in Ireland or with Irish characters.

Thanks for participating in the hop and for the giveaway opportunity.

St. Patrick’s Day really isn’t all that special for me. We don’t do anything special to celebrate. But I
do wish I could visit Ireland someday. I sooo like the idea of exploring the Irish castles. Those that are inhabited and those that are not. Finding some ghosts would be cool too. I am looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
