Online Classes & Book Coaching

UPCOMING ONLINE CLASSES –

Tarot for Writers – Ready to add a new tool into your writer toolkit? Tarot Cards can help fiction writers connect with their writer intuition as well as get the writing flowing again when your book may have stalled. The cards can be used to help with outlining for plotters, or as a constant writing companion for pantsers as they write their manuscript.

This is a 4 part workshop that will take place over Zoom on four consecutive Monday nights. We’ll start on Monday January 8th at 8:30pm eastern/5:30pm pacific.

Each group class is approx. 2 hours, and I’m happy to take questions too. This is a hands-on interactive workshop that includes an exploration of all 78 cards of a tarot deck with examples and ideas for helping to create characters, backstories, and even scene work. We’ll also explore Oracle cards for deeper characterization and finally you’ll learn some card spreads to try for plots and characterization as well.

Required Materials – A Tarot Deck and an Oracle Deck. There isn’t a specific deck, just find one with pictures that inspire you. You don’t need to know anything about tarot to join the class.

The class sessions will be recorded, so international writers can watch during daylight hours in their time zone…

Cost – $150 total for 4 weeks ($37.50 per class)

Testimonials –

“Lisa teaches tarot in a way that is easy to understand and apply to your writing process and your daily life. I’ve been reading cards for years and learned how to read more intuitively and trust what the cards tell me without resorting to reading a guide book. Best tarot instruction I’ve ever had, hands down!” – Tasha L. Harrison

“Lisa expanded my limited knowledge of tarot by teaching me how to follow my intuition and expanding my understanding of the different suits and how they complement and contrast each other. As a plotter, it was daunting to consider using tarot as inspiration; however, Lisa taught us different ways to utilize tarot depending on your writing style. I highly recommend this class!” – A.H. Cunningham

“Tarot for Writers is a must-take course for authors taught by the amazing Lisa Kessler, extraordinaire. Whether you’re a plotter or a pantser, the tools provided help in giving a well-rounded approach to character development, world-building, and story. I love to say it helped me get out of my head and get story onto the page. Definitely recommend!” – Mia Heintzelman

I loved the way Lisa explained how to use tarot cards to help create stories. My cards have now become a critical part of my ‘stuck toolkit’ in addition to helping me dig deeper into my characters early on and helping maintain momentum through my story when I don’t know what’s coming next (pantser here). Her lessons helped turn my tarot cards into a kind of chew toy for my writing intuition! – Leigh Landry

Tarot for Writers is one of the best writing classes/resources. Lisa’s teaching style pulled me out of writer’s block on a project I love and have been working on for over two years. The way Lisa explains how Tarot can be used for characterization and plotting opened up a path for me to connect with my characters. The book flows now and I’d still be stuck without the new tools introduced to me through Lisa’s instruction in Tarot for Writers. You’ll love this class. – Laura Tatum
