Hi Everyone –

I’ve been tagged by a few authors for The Next Big Thing, and I had a blast posting it once before for my book You Slay Me so I thought I’d play again with Night Demon this time! J

Thanks to Terry Ambrose, Samanthe Beck and Astrea Baldwin for tagging me again! J

So here we go…

What is your working title of your book (or story)? – Night Demon (Book 2 in the Night Series)

Where did the idea come from for the book? – When I was writing Night Walker
I knew there was much more to the story that my hero, Calisto, didn’t know. When I finished writing Night Walker, I started on Night Demon right away because I couldn’t wait to see what Lukas had learned about the Night Walker race.

What genre does your book fall under? – Dark Paranormal Romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? – As I wrote the book, my hero, Lukas, was definitely Goran Visnjic. And Gretchen was a young redheaded Nicole Kidman. I posted lots of pictures on Night Demon Pinterest board… J

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book? – A Mayan demon has been unleashed and the fate of humanity rests on the shoulders of the Night Walkers to stop her, but only love will save the immortals from extinction.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? – It’s already contracted from Entangled Publishing. It should be available in the Spring… J

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? – Six months.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? – Hmmm… Maybe like Queen of the Damned, but a romance takes center stage.

Who or what inspired you to write this book? – This book was really inspired by all the research I did for Night Walker that never made it into the book! LOL While building my Night Walker world I researched and even took a trip to the Yucatan and hiked the pyramid at Chichen Itza. I could really relate to my hero, Lukas, researching and yearning to make connections. So once Night Walker was finished, Night Demon felt like I needed to write it. I really fell in love with the book and the jungle setting… J

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? – How about a tiny sneak peek?

With his arms outstretched, his palms and face turned up toward the storm, toward the heavens, the Guardian stood at the top of the pyramid at Chichen Itza and closed his eyes. Hot rain pummeled his skin. Lightning flashed through the sky, casting his shadow down the steep stone steps, but his attention was focused elsewhere, far from the Yucatan jungle, across the seas and around the globe.

His silent mental call reached out, searching for the four immortal brothers, his makers. The Night Walker gods of the North, South, East and West would now hear his summons. They would know that the Demon awoke from her slumber and ached for freedom from her prison within the earth.

For hours, until the stars dimmed and the sky lightened, he stood motionless, a stone sentinel to protect the mortal world from the evil that hungered and thirsted. The immortal brothers would answer the call.

They would answer, or the mortal world was doomed.

If you enjoy vampire romances, I hope you’ll give the Night Series a try…

Since I already tagged authors on my last Next Big Thing, I’ll leave the invitation open… If you’re working on a new project, tell us about it! J (And let me know so I can come read it! LOL)

I can’t wait to share Night Demon with you!!!

Amazing sneak peek at your Next Big Thing! Are you channeling a little “Practical Magic” with your casting? It worked for Alice Hoffman!
