What a year it’s been… Happy Birthday Night Walker!

Hi Everyone –

I couldn’t let today go by without wishing my debut novel, Night Walker, a Happy 1st Birthday!

And what a year it’s been! I was honored to see Night Walker selected as a launch title for my publisher, and on August 2nd 2011, we started on an epic journey with Entangled Publishing.

Night Walker went from a Print on Demand paperback to a mass-market trade paper re-launch in May of 2012 with copies in Barnes & Noble stores nationwide!

And distribution didn’t stop there… Night Walker was also selected to be a part of Walmart’s Summer Beach Read Promo on their website, and it’s still on sale over there! J

Together, Night Walker and I visited my favorite store… Mysterious Galaxy, and had signings in both the San Diego and Redondo Beach stores! (They may even have a few signed copies left…)

I was also lucky to sign books at RomCon, World Fantasy Con, RT Booklovers Convention and the RWA National Convention! It was such a blast meeting so many readers… Romance readers are the coolest people on earth! J

Along the way, Night Walker won a San Diego Book Award for Best Published Fantasy-SciFi-Horror and was a double finalist in the Book Seller’s Best contest for Best Paranormal and Best First Book! I’m beyond thrilled…

And last but not least, Night Walker was the book of my heart, but there was a time when I lost faith that I would ever get the book published. Between the historical flashbacks and the non-traditional vampire mythos, etc. many publishers handed me rejections saying how much they enjoyed the book, but they couldn’t figure out how to market it.

Entangled took a chance on me and on Night Walker, and I can’t tell you how exciting this year has been…

Thanks SOOO much for all your support this year! For telling friends about the book, for sharing pics of the cover all over facebook, and for the good thoughts along the way!!!

In September, Night Thief, will be released!!! I can’t wait to share this novella with you!!! It’s a prequel to Night Walker and you’ll get to meet, Kane, one of the original 4 Night Walker brothers.

Hope you’ll join me in a round of Happy Birthday for Night Walker, and next month we can welcome the new baby to the Night Series family! LOL

Happy Birthday. We were just discussing the issue that publishers will only purchase what they can market. If a book doen’t have a genre tag it’s toast. But then my fav example is Harry Potter which almost didn’t get published at all. Just finished Discovery of Witches, one of the best books ever. Looking forward to your sept relase too
