A Ghost’s Requiem — New Short Fiction!!!

Hi Everyone –   I had a busy week, but everything got eclipsed this weekend.  Ken’s cousin passed away after a very long battle with cancer, and while I didn’t ever get the chance to meet her in person, he’s shared many stories with me about her.  She sounded like an amazing lady, and I wish I could have met her.   It’s tough to see the man I care about most in the whole world hurting.   My nature is always to try to find solutions to problems or situations.  Years of… Read More

Unemployed Muses Anonymous — New Short Fiction!

Hi Everyone! I had a great writing week!  I’m just over 37,000 words on Moonlight (149 pages)  Only about 3,000 more words to the halfway point!  YAY! Once I hit halfway, I need to focus back on the revisions for Night Walker so I can be ready for the writer’s conference in DC next month…  Whee! Thanks again to all of you for your support every week!  I broke 12,000 profile views and 24,000 blog views last week!!!  *boggle*  THANK YOU!!!! 🙂 This week’s story came about while trying to… Read More

The Golden Thief — New Short Fiction

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great week!  Thanks for all your comments about the sneak peek into Moonlight!  I got a few thousand more words written last week and I should be halfway by next weekend!!!  YAY!!!! 🙂 For this week’s story, I saw the Eiffel Tower in the bonus points, and though I would write a French tale, which grew into starting a story about how two of my Night Walkers met.  Sadly they met about 80 years before the eiffel tower was built, so I couldn’t include… Read More

Curiosity Killed the Cat — New Sneak Peek into Moonlight! :)

Hi Everyone!   It was a busy week!  I finally got the feedback from the editor who judged Night Walker in the finals of the contest.  I was worried because the contest coordinator told me the editor from Dorchester had given me "tough" comments. They weren’t "tough" so much as honest and helpful!  Plus most of her feedback reinforced the revisions I’ve already made, so I couldn’t ask for a better outcome!  YAY!   (She even mentioned my vampire was hot with  a happy face!) I also got the scoresheets… Read More

The Loser Group — New Short Fiction

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for all the encouragement last week!  I’m sorry I got so down, but it happens sometimes, and I’m trying to keep my road to getting my books published real. You get to see the ups and sadly the downs. But on to happier things!  I’ve been making progress on the new book, Moonlight, and I’m very excited about the way it’s going.  I feel like it’s really moving along now. Also, in July I’ll be heading to Washington DC for the National RWA writing conference. … Read More

Take Your Imp to Work Day — New Short Fiction! :)

Hi Everyone!I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day!  I went to brunch with my family and my grandparents.  We all consumed way too much food and enjoyed a chocolate fountain. Life is good! I had so much fun with the story this week.  I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it! 🙂 The topic this week was Welcome to my Work week.  My day job is selling cordless window shades to mental institutions and colleges.  Not very exciting to write about.  So… Read More

Best-Selling Life — New Short Fiction!

Hi everyone – Thanks SO much for stopping by my anniversary blog last week!  It was great to hear from so many of you again! This week’s story was inspired by having breakfast with my Grandparents on Saturday morning.  My Grandfather has been a family historian for years, collecting family tree information going back generations! He’s 87 now and wants to pass on some of his knowledge to all of us, and as I sat there learning about my great-grandfather’s father, I realized how even the most simple lives help… Read More

Illumine Me – 52 Weeks of Stories!!! :)

Hi Everyone! Thank you SO much for stopping by my blog!!! This blog marks 52 weeks of stories for me!!!  I started on this journey last year when I was sick of trying to get published.  My spirit was broken and I couldn’t sit still and write.  At times I thought I may have forgotten how. A few years ago, I was on the board for Word|San Diego magazine.  We did an interview with Ray Bradbury before he came down to San Diego for a writing seminar.  When he came to… Read More

Little White Lie — New Short Fiction

Hi Everyone – I had a crazy week, but I did get the revised version of Night Walker to the one agent and then a different agent requested the full manuscript of the original version! LOL I’m hoping if enough people read it one will be the perfect home… *crossing fingers* This week’s story started off with a very simple concept…  A Little White Lie.  Then I found the Oliver Wendell Holmes quote and it all fell together.  I couldn’t work in the Men are from Mars and Women are from… Read More

Til Death Do We Part — New Flash Fiction

Happy Easter to those who celebrate!  I hope you had a great weekend!   I spent the entire weekend buried in edits on Night Walker.  It’s been a crazy week, but I think I’m very close to having an agent who thinks she can sell Night Walker!  Woot!  I had to rework the beginning which ended up changing other things along the way, but I’m almost finished…  Shew!   Huge thanks to Ken for proofreading for me all weekend!  *HUGS*   So with all the revising, I barely had time… Read More
